Eye Candy designed and delivered a suite of Digital Products for the Australian Museum’s exhibition – Tyrannosaurs, Meet the Family.

The Museums original brief was for a series of stills based digital interactives. The museum allowed Eye Candy to collaborate closely with them, taking into account their needs, aims and constraints, and extend the deliverables to a series of Gamified, fully 3D, nonlinear, exploration and play based interactives.

These included:

  • A series of interactive touch screens to compliment the traditional exhibit labels, which allowed visitors to get a sense of what each of the fossil remains may have looked like when alive, as well as interact with each creature to receive specific information on particular interesting features.
  • A large, multi user, multi touch table tyrannosaur family tree game, where up to 16 people of all ages, could play with the dinosaurs, and collaborate to complete the family tree.
  • A group based Augment Reality experience allowing visitors to see themselves with a series of tyrannosaurs of different sizes which roamed the exhibitions atrium space.
  • A take home App for Android and iOS, that was selected as one of the “Editor’s choice” on the front page of the itunes app store. The app has been downloaded more than 2 million times – and counting.
